Description

In this sardonic satire of a state dysfunctional judicial system, a professional man relocates to the State of Georgia only to discover that he was not entitled to equal justice there after he became involved in a dispute with the wife of a frustrated but politically well-connected neighbor and was treated as a persona non grata and prosecuted at the neighbor's behest by his powerful friends that included the state attorney general, a U.S. attorney, a police chief, a county district attorney, few state court, superior court, and appeals court judges. This is the chronicle of his bigoted prosecution in which real life events are overlaid with a façade of fiction to bring attention to the discriminatory practices that often result in citizens mistreatments by our law enforcement and judicial apparatuses when entrusted into the careless hands of unethical judges, biased policemen, and cynical prosecutors who use race, class, sex, and politics in the most prejudicial ways to make this man pay for his insolence towards a member of their powerful clique. Yet, however puzzling this prosecution was, it is the friendship between the man and his powerful neighbor’s wife that is the core of the story. A friendship driven by her scornful sexual temptations the disconcerting suspicions of her husband turned into the hatred that spawned the stalking lies that fueled the unconstitutional demeanor of his state official friends. A blatant display of state sponsored prejudice written as a roman à clef where the underlying tone is the indistinct lines between truth and lies underscored by the man accusing her of making the false stalking claims because she is scornful at him for stopping their sexual affair which accentuates the neighbor's struggles to believe his wife who says there never was such affair between her and the man when he knows that lying is a life condition for her, that her accusations were indeed lies he helped concoct, and he had himself lied under oath in court to cover those lies and her other lies the police replicated in their reports to justify their nefarious persecutory actions against the man.
