Order Out Of Chaos: A relationship with Alzheimer's disease born of hope and experience

It is hard not to get lost in the day to day routine of caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease and easy to lose track of what has happened as the disease progresses. Katy Samuels kept a daily record of how the disease had affected her husband Peter, and Order out of Chaos is the distillation of those notes. Covering a two year period, it is an account of how, as Alzheimer's took more and more of Peter, she had to find ways and strategies to care for him and to be able to keep him happy, safe, comfortable and at home. These solutions were often short-lived as Alzheimer's, together with Peter's underlying Asperger's syndrome,continued to throw up new challenges and obstacles. Katy not only had to find new ways of coping but also had to keep a grip on her own sense of humour, which would prove to be essential in keeping going.
