SARA Journal Småland

Each fully illustrated volume of "SARA Journal" spotlights a province (landskap) in Sweden. Read about the history and attractions of the province, as well as the story of a family from the province who emigrated to North America. This issue features two "how-to" articles by leading Swedish genealogist, Elisabeth Thorsell, one on Swedish Church Records, and another on Swedish Legal Records. There is also an article about a SARA member who used the church records to solve the mystery of her great grandmother's birth date, a short biography of Astrid Lindgren, author of "Pippi Longstocking" and many other beloved books, as well as the strange story of a murder trial that occured in the early 1800s.
