When A Man's A Man

The basis of the classic George O'Brien western. “There is a land where a man, to live, must be a man. It is a land of granite and marble and porphyry and gold--and a man's strength must be as the strength of the primeval hills.” His fortune wiped out, Easterner Larry Knight leaves his beautiful an upper-class bride to be, Helen Wakenfield, and heads West to start life all over again. He manages to land a job as a ranchhand, and in this capacity develops a love of horses. Larry's "Rite of passage" to full manhood is manifested in his efforts to tame and ride a champion bucking bronco. The area, however, is suffering from a rash of cattle theft and the newcomer is suspected of being the guilty party. While fighting to clear his name, Knight loses a different fight: the loss of his fiancée to another suitor. Happily, a sweet local girl is present to comfort him.
