If you had one chance at love, though it cost you everything, would you take it? This story is of a timeless love affair set in the era of Elvis and Fats Domino. Joe and Lindsey become entangled in threads spun by the three Sisters of Fate. In that embrace, no man, or prayers offered on high or love itself can alter destiny when the merciless scissors slash. Lindsey Porter is forced to return to her hometown of River Bend, "Brigadoon," that she escaped years ago to flee a stalker, a labyrinth of corruption, and townsfolk crying for blood. Though Joe shields her with his life neither he nor the explosive numbers can calm tornadic winds that threaten them both. Coming home, she must now face her demons in the goblin's mirror. It is only upon arriving full circle to the land of "foxfire and phantoms" that she finds an answer to the haunting question that has chased her over continents.
