The Hues of the Himalaya

In India, classical evaluation of poetry is in terms of the vision encompassed by it beneath its surface. Ananda Vardhana called it darshanadhwani. In the west the test is the capability for emotification or evocation. These poems marry the Indian tradition of poetry with the western. They move us and lead us on to the ultimate and sublime experience of consummation - the best that can be achieved at the ripening of the human condition.
