My Recycled Life: Second chances aren't always easy

Joe Ackers was dead. That fact was undeniable. After all, he saw his own body. He even attended his own funeral. He wasn't a disembodied spirit floating above the crowd unseen and unheard. Instead he was standing there among the crowd flesh and bone as alive as anyone else. Not that he deserved a second chance. He hadn't been bad man in life, but he was far from a good one. By all rights he should have been lying in that casket rotting away until the devil himself came to collect his due. Instead it seemed the Fates had another plan for Joe. After his death he found himself in the body of a perfectly healthy at risk youth. The Fates however weren’t being all benevolent and kind. The new life Joe inherited was a living nightmare. The kid’s life included an abusive parent, a slew of bullies at school, teachers that hated him, and just for good measure he had drug dealers who were convinced he stole from them. Regardless of what the Fates had in mind for Joe he had no other choice but to make the best of his newly inherited recycled life.
