The Divine Feminine in Asatru: Achieving a Spiritual Balance in Asatru

The role of women in a man's life provide the color, imagination and love so central to a positive implementation of Asatru. The great tale of our hero Sigurd is a cautionary tale of a heroes quest to reunite with the divine feminine and the resulting loss that comes from failing to successfully incorporate and insulting the feminine in his life. Sad is the man fails to bring the balance of the feminine into his life. In todays Asatru there is a unique idea of individuality, promoted chiefly by an often times over inflated ego, but if we are to abandon the idea of authority, such as the kings, queens, princes and heroes of the past, we must do our best to differentiate the feminine and masculine archetypes in our lives in order to fully understand ourselves and assume those leadership roles or join others based upon a useful knowledge of our own strengths and weaknesses.
