Marriage, Divorce & Remarriage

This material was written, compiled and used for a Bible Class at the Palm Beach Lakes church of Christ in 2013. It was written in outline form to simplify the content, the formatting and the application for a Bible Class setting. Due to time constraints, the study was not as exhaustive as it could (or should) have been. The subject of Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage is a vast topic with numerous aspects and issues that require great time and deliberation to thoroughly examine. While limited somewhat in its scope, it is believed that this booklet will provide a basic introduction to the fundamental principles needed to grasp, explain, teach and defend this vitally important topic. The eight chapters of this book include: 1. Introductory Matters 2. God's OVER-View of Marriage & Divorce 3. Matthew 19 & God's Original Plan 4. The Authority & Amenability of Matthew 19 5. Matthew 19:9, Adultery & Jesus' One Exception 6. The Put-Away Fornicator May Not Remarry! 7. Deserted Believers Are Not Free to Remarry! 8. Adulterous Marriages Are Sinful & Must Be Severed! Each chapter lists bibliographical information to aid in further study. (At the end of Chapter 8, a supplementary list of sources is provided beyond the ones consulted for this study.) It is hoped that additional chapters and studies will be added to this book in future years.
