Twentysomething

Now a mother, Jen Kaye relives her twenties as she shares the stories with her daughter. Though her post-college life as a waitress was relatively comfortable, after a couple of years, she began to crave more. With a leap of faith, the native Californian decided to leave behind a lover and close friends in favor of a fresh start in New York City. From her living situation to her career path to her romances to her friendships, Jen's first year in Manhattan was full of surprises. As she matured in the big city, she came to see that situations and people are rarely as simplistic as they seem on the surface. Her experiences are complete with all of the confusion and self-doubt that comes with being twentysomething. With few resources or connections in New York, Jen let her passions guide her decisions. Instead of trying to solve the puzzle that is growing up, she simply followed her heart, and let the pieces fall into place.
