Men, Women, and Their Addictions: A Biological Approach

Men and women differ in their motivation to and progression of addictive behaviors. This book is a review of the biological issues associated with addiction: neuroanatomy, genetics, and short-term and long term effects of alcoholism, drug abuse, and several behavioral compulsions, including gambling, compulsive exercise, and cybersex. Modalities of recovery and prevention are also covered.
