Ruth Hawkins series of Flytrap Paintings. The initial development of my paintings originated from a photograph taken of an industrial Flytrap. The sensation and emotions associated with being trapped have become a central conceit of my work. The paintings are bold, colourful, abstract and geometric, also reflecting our urban environment.
