When Evie and her sister Kit leave their deserted northern home for good, they have no idea what they are going to find. Since a deadly Sickness has wiped out the population, all they do know is they must find some remnants of civilization. They head towards a formerly thriving metropolis to discover what is left of humanity. Nothing could prepare them for what they find when they arrive in the city, now known only as New City. They are drawn into a world of mysterious benefactors and fast-talking criminals.
