Living With A Weakness: An Honest Perspective Of A Christian Living With Same-Sex Attraction

This book is a very personal, passionate and biblical appeal to everybody who struggles with Same-Sex Attraction (SSA) not to give up. It is based on the conviction that it is better to struggle than to dive into the homosexual lifestyle and that it is possible for a person who struggles with SSA to glorify God in spite of this weakness. While not compromising the Biblical truth that homosexual practice is sinful, the book looks at different ways how God might want to redeem SSA for the things that are on His heart. The author has been serving in full-time Christian ministry for over 20 years, most of this time as a missionary in Thailand. The book is written mainly for Christians who would consider themselves to be evangelical and either struggle with Same-Sex Attraction themselves or would like to get a better understanding of the subject. The author shares candidly from his own personal experience, but examines Biblical issues every Christian has to deal with, including the role of temptation, the struggle between the Christian's old nature and the Spirit and the benefits and limits of counseling. While the person with SSA might always remain vulnerable to homosexual temptation, just as the "straight" person remains vulnerable to temptation in that area, this book reminds the reader that God has promised to show Himself strong in our weakness, rather than taking it away (see 2. Corinthians 12:9).
