Description
A new top secret covert war was initiated immediately after the US invasion of Afghanistan. This was a time when Rumsfeld had just initiated a policy of sub contracting US war to civilian sub contractors with a military-intelligence background.Afghanistan from 2001 onwards became the heartland of this new form of war.The concept was to sub let intelligence gathering , low intensity operations and various covert operations to civilian sub contractors. The contractors were from a vast array of NATO states but predominantly US ,British,Canadian and Australian. The targets were both state and non state actors ranging from Taliban,Al Qaeda ,Pakistan,Iran,China,Russia,Central Asian states etc.Afghanistan thus became a huge Casablanca or Lisbon on worlds intelligence operatives. 12.
