Mary and her friends are all well educated, successful, beautiful, African American women living in Chicago, Illinois. The four women have been friends for over 20 years. Each woman has a deep dark secret they have had to deal with through their friendship. Together the women have supported each other and maintained their secrets. One day Mary, the rock in the friendship, is introduced to a tall dark intellectual man, named Michael.
