MISSOURI… Gateway to the West. This has been the state’s label since the frontier days of Lewis & Clark, Daniel Boone & the Santa Fe Trail. Come along as we take an historical tour of Missouri’s railroad past from the 1850s to the 1980s. From Hannibal to Springfield, St Joseph to Cape Girardeau, St Louis to Kansas City, we’ll cover every major railroad and many branch lines from an era when the railroads didn’t all look the same. Over 250 color photos from as far back as 1946 represent the railroads of Missouri, including the Burlington Northern, Cotton Belt, Frisco, Gulf, Mobile & Ohio, Kansas City Southern, Milwaukee Rd, Missouri-Kansas-Texas, Missouri Pacific, Norfolk & Western, Rock Island, and the Wabash.
