Description
This is a training manual for pastor of congregations that are stuck in their history. This manual provides both rationale and a Bible study the pastor can use to lead the congregation through the process of healing from its history. This training manual also discusses moral injury, both individual and corporate. Moral injury can occur when an individual does something against his or her moral code or fails to do something that is in line with his or her moral code. Moral injury can also occur when a member of the congregation experiences the moral failure of a leader of the congregation. Corporate moral injury can occur when a number of members of the congregation experience the moral injury from the same moral failure at around the same time. The best recovery method from moral injury is when a benevolent moral authority leads the morally injured person through a process of forgiveness (particularly self-forgiveness) to a discipled lifestyle. For the local congregation, the benevolent moral authority is the pastor. This book is written for the pastor, or the leader of the local congregation.
