Bits and Pieces

When I first started writing this book it was meant to be about raising our Downs son, Gilbert. Somehow it morphed into bits and pieces of my life. I will soon be 90 and I feel as though I have had a wonderful life. I wasn't born perfect as you will find out when you read it. That hasn't bothered me a bit. Maybe it defines who I am. As many times as I have flirted with death, I shouldn't still be here, but I am. I say that no one is born with the promise that life will be a rose garden. Maybe it is. It's just that roses do have those nasty thorns. Fifty-nine years of a wonderful married life were given to me. My sons I cherish. Gilbert? We had him for almost fifty-one years before God took him home.
