Patriotism From An American Pulpit: The Legacy of America's Founding Fathers

The study of American history reveals that the Founding Fathers took the Bible as a political textbook and founded our Constitutional Republic. The result is that America became the greatest country in world history. The thirteen chapters in “Patriotism from an American Pulpit” reveal some of the rich legacy that the Founding Fathers gave to us and are taken from patriotic sermons that the author preached as a pastor. Some of the chapter titles are: “The Laws of Nature and Nature’s God” which is the legal foundation of America stated in the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, “The Five Biblical Purposes of the United States Constitution,” “The Bible and the American Form of Government,” and “The Four Boxes of Liberty.” During the Founding Era (1760-1805) at least 10% of the political pamphlets printed were the reprinted sermons of Colonial pastors. The Colonial clergy were instrumental in laying the Biblical and intellectual basis for our War for Independence. Today America desperately needs men in the pulpits of our churches to again preach sermons on civil liberty so all Americans can enjoy the blessings that come from civil and religious liberty.
