The shelves of Christian bookstores are filled with "how to" books addressing a broad spectrum of issues related to marriage. However, there is a dearth of material that addresses the bedrock issues of marriage from a foundationally theological and pervasively gospel perspective. This is the much needed task that Alan Dunn has accomplished for us. Any couple contemplating marriage will find in this book the divine template for true intimacy in their marriage. The married couple who are enjoying much multi-leveled intimacy will be strengthened in that intimacy as they read and assimilate the biblical perspectives contained in it. Those with a troubled marriage may find that the gospel is indeed the power of God unto salvation--even salvation from a troubled to a God-honoring, mutually fulfilling marital intimacy that will fulfill God's intention--namely, that a Christian marriage would reflect the relationship of Christ and His church.
