Graveyards of the Maldives chronicles the twenty-six hour nightmare of one Carl DeVant, vitamin sales executive and world's most lovable bore, who, by an act of very unkind happenstance, finds himself incarcerated in a Sri Lankan prison. A black comedy that lifts stylistic components from both Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Franz Kafka's The Trial, Graveyards forces its central character to reexamine his life in ways he was never before been forced to examine, as well as question the abstract concepts of freedom, social status, democracy and the unfairness of life.
