The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden was a revelation for a whole new generation of young girls with the 1993 film adaptation, based up on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved novel. A coming-of-age featuring a young girl who has only known life in the exotic heat of India, Mary Lennox then finds herself orphaned and alone, sent to stay with an uncle she has never met, in an England that could not be more starkly different from her home. Mary’s transformation from a tempestuous and ill-tempered brat to an open-hearted and loving young lady thanks to a beautiful secret is a triumph.
