Language and culture are intertwined and learning a foreign language is not as daunting as it may sound. We must endeavor to shift pupils from the traditional paradigm of knower to ‘learner’ using a variety of assessment for learning strategies.Assessment for learning has the greatest potential for advancing students’ progress, because it has the capacity to bridge the gap between the ‘current level of achievement and the desired level’.
