This book is not an autobiography, but is strongly autobiographical in nature. Zo , who has been a working woman all her life and an entrepreneur for most of it, is still working at age 80 and it is from this perspective, and that of an experienced widow, that she shares her experiences and thoughts in print. Much of her thinking will be recognizable to many. ZOMA was the name ascribed to her early in the life of her grandchildren. Oma is the Dutch word for grandma. Pre-fixing this with the Z from Zo seemed an easy way to individualize her. The translation of the Dutch Zoma is niet zomaar een oma maar onze Zoma translates roughly as Zoma is not anyone s oma but our Zoma . In this book she looks back with tears and laughter on the trials and tribulations of life alone at a riper age. Always project orientated, always looking for opportunities, Zo philosophizes in this book about what now, what next? She looks forward to what is to come with cautious optimism.
