Dimensions of Religious Controversies in Bollywood: An Analysis of PK and OMG- Oh My God !

This book contains the dissertation submitted by me to the Mahatma Gandhi University during my graduation days. Religion is a part of culture. It is a most powerful cultural tool as it exists almost everywhere and influences of the same culture on religion is intricately connected. The roots and strengths of these cultural practices are beyond the realm of words. As we know, Religion and its practices are being taken as the tool of critical analysis by many of the filmmakers. When we analyse the Bollywood film industry, we can see many examples for the same. Here I am attempting an analysis of two such films which are closely linked with the depiction of religion in a critical manner.
