In the 19th century the growth of the British Empire and colonisation of Africa from the Cape Colony has begun. The ruthless war machine that is the British Army is controlled by an extreme, dark society called the ELOS, the hidden, second government in London and Cape Town. They conquer the native clans of the Eastern Cape Frontier in South Africa, taking their freedom and their ancestral lands, ruthlessly massacring any man, woman or child who fight to take back their freedom. Why do the ELOS want to decimate the Xhosa people to the edge of extinction? Only one man, Jamie Fyvie, and his friend Iain McColl can save the Cape Colony and prevent the destruction of the Xhosa people. On the voyage from Liverpool to Cape Town, Jamie and Iain fight for their lives against mutineers smuggling guns to the Xhosa warriors to incite war. Jamie is seduced by the woman in league with the man who is trying to kill him but ultimately he falls in love with the woman’s step-daughter. Two of the ELOS’s elders who are well positioned in the Cape government, have a dark secret. They are kidnapping, abusing and murdering young local girls to satisfy their unnatural lust. But one girl escapes. Will she be brave enough to bring them to justice? Jamie and Iain follow clues left by the ancient order of the Knights Templar to find a mythical trove of artefacts and gold buried somewhere on the Southern African coast five hundred years before. The ELOS intend to find the treasure first and use it as their war chest. Is the hidden treasure a myth? The Freemasons in Scotland consider anything left by the Knights Templar as their legacy and send their brethren to watch over Jamie and Iain whilst they prove or disprove the myth. The ELOS have put the slavers on notice to be ready to sail their slave ships from Southern Africa to the Southern States of America and north to Lourenco Marques in Mozambique destined for the Boers inland. It is a race against time across the killing grounds of the Eastern Cape frontier to save the colony but more so to prevent the destruction of an indigenous culture.
