To Iraq and Back: Adventures of an Army Psychiatrist

A liberal American psychiatrist joins the Army after the 9/11 attacks, trying to 'do the right thing' by taking care of the young soldiers who are in the front lines of the fighting. Through four swirling tours of Iraq, he is profoundly touched by, and learns life lessons from, his soldier patients, as well as the Iraqi civilians that he interacts with. This book describes the adventure of his training and combat tours, and may serve as an inspiration for others to take up the torch by becoming soldiers themselves.
