Love Happens

Love Happens is a funny and touching book about a grandmother, mother, and daughter who connect deeply when the daughter is cast as Hamlet in a school play. The mother, Danah, and her best friend, see a psychic and this kicks off the discovery of a dark family secret which is finally revealed when Danah's mother and stepfather arrive to see the play. Normally, Danah is motivated and self-directed but this family secret makes her question everything. Meanwhile, Danah focuses on renovating her Connecticut house in an attempt to save money and stay sane. Watching the workmen act on their decisions daily is a form of therapy for her. She envies their confidence and conviction as she agonizes over what to do about the awful news she has learned from the ghost of her father. She wonders if she can trust a ghost. Ultimately, Love Happens is a story about living in the moment with compassion and a sense of humor.
