Description
The Earth is in crisis. Ecosystems are collapsing. Mankind is in chaos. In a desperate attempt to save a remnant of civilization, the United States of Earth launches Project Noah, a secret colonization mission to Mars. Colonel Ben Walker and his crew have the daunting task to establish a base camp amid the harsh environment and get ready for new settlers. Everything is going according to plan when a curious entity makes itself known to them which dramatically alters the focus of their mission. Set slightly in the future (2035), the story treats the Apocalyptic theme in a thoughtful, realistic way unlike the many doom and gloom scenarios that have been offered to-date. The author deftly weaves the various 'isms' that led up to the crisis with new ones that are necessary to re-establish pockets of survivors in places like the Pacific North West, L.A., Peru, Tanzania and India. Book 1 introduces a colorful cast of characters: Ben Walker, the no-nonsense military man; Luke, the master wilderness survivalist; Powers, the archetypical magnate who sees an opportunity to build a new empire; Rod Mallone, the 'Guru', who wants to guide civilization into a new age of awareness and Shakti, who is determined to play out the role of her creator-goddess namesake. The epic saga does not disappoint. There's plenty of action, intrigue, a touch of Sci-Fi, humor, romance and a page-turning plot.
