13 Years: My Life as the Mother of an Addict

Meth: Life as I knew it was over. In August of 2013, as I sat at my desk reflecting on my life for the past thirteen years with an addicted child, I decided to start writing. I had a story to tell. The story was James, my son. He is a drug addict and a manipulative con artist, but also my beautiful boy who has made me strong. My story chronicles the effects his behaviors have had on my entire family. At the conclusion of my story, I am honored to say that I have finally figured out how to be the mother of an addict.
