Where's the Rest?: An Incomplete Memoir From an Incoherent Memory

As with so many things in life, the best laid plans ... well, you know the rest. For many people who have written a book, losing the material to a hard drive crash might be a sign, a hard slam-on-the-brake kind of reaction, a trauma from which one might not recover. Like a good swift kick in the teeth with a steel toed boot while you're already bent over a venting sampling well. Author D.M. Nicholas was too stubborn to realize it, and painstakingly recreated his memoir in spite of seeing much of it vanish into a digital vortex many years ago. As he pieced the story back together from memory - an incoherent memory, as it were - he found himself realizing readers would soon be asking "where's the rest?" And with that realization, he discovered the structure that would make his book unlike anything you've read before. Told from the point of view of an anxious college student stumbling toward some sense of direction in life, "Where's the Rest?" is an excellent reminder of the things we can accomplish if we find ways around the obstacles cast in front of us - or simply ignore them.
