The noble tale begins in Avalon as Rhys, a page for Morgana le Fae, becomes a Son of the Round Table. He's eager to serve, but he must leave Naida behind. She's a faerie and their love is forbidden.
As Rhys obeys King Arthur's call to arms, he's pursued and wounded by a poisoned arrow. When Rhys recovers, he presents heirloom gifts to his three sisters, the Glastenning Sisterhood.
As Rhys resumes the fight, he asks Naida for the location of Eon, the faerie world. Rhys makes his way north toward Kendal to pick up more warriors as Mordred, the son of King Arthur, prepares to usurp his father's throne. The opposing mortal forces head for the same destination.
Faerie Queen Mab worries about the future of Avalon. If Camelot falls and the Glastenning Sisterhood perishes, the Lifetree will die, too, and so will the fae. She orders the fae to support one of the mortal factions.
As the opposing mortal forces and faerie fen head toward battle, will good prevail over evil? Will the Lifetree be saved?
