Recollections of Murder (Joe Brandt Thrillers)

Joe Brandt is assigned to prosecute his first murder case after a famous woman is brutally murdered and dismembered. The district attorney is taking a big risk on the unproven young prosecutor because the only possible witness to the savage killing is the victim’s traumatized nine-year-old son and Joe has demonstrated great skill at working with damaged children. During the investigation, Joe’s repressed memories of his own brutal childhood begin to unravel as the wealthy suspect’s unscrupulous lawyers will stop at nothing to keep him from unlocking the boy’s secrets, even launching personal attacks against Joe and his family. Joe’s progress is impeded at every turn by aggressive press coverage, the politics of the DA’s office, the boy’s wary guardian and the opposition’s ruthless legal and illegal tactics. These tangents and obstructions could jeopardize the prosecution and unexpectedly endanger his life and others.
