Ninety-Three
Description
Victor Hugo was a prominent French writer during the Romantic movement. Hugo is well known for both his poetry and classic novels such as Les Miserables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Hugo's writings served as excellent critiques of French political and social issues during his time. Ninety-Three is Hugo's last novel and it was published in 1874 shortly after the upheaval of the Paris Commune. The action in the novel starts in 1793 during the Royalist insurrection of the Chouannerie.
