Description

The curb side contents herein have without doubt found dwelling in the gutter, in the bleak work house and deterioration of spirit, a slight misanthropic inspiration beneath the dark underbelly and regressive anomaly of the present social circumstance, which not only seems to be heading towards a glorious implosion alone, but apparently celebrates its death of awareness with a furious gallop into the furnace of tribulation. Something is gravely wrong with society when intelligence is viewed upon as possessing the capacity to memorise and regurgitate, when one can work fifty sometimes sixty hour weeks and still only barely earn enough money to cover basic living expenses, when multi million pound corporations, banks and earnings of celebrity personalities evade tax without incident – Yet those eking out an existence on minimum wage are taxed to the point that they rely on government subsidy to scrape a living, whilst those same millionaires toast there ridiculous, preposterous accumulation of tax free earnings in mansions with thirty something rooms for both their children. Something is fundamentally sick about a society that would view four year old children indoctrinated into full time education as acceptable, where couples in relationships sit silently in each other’s company as their eyes remain completely transfixed on the screens of their I phones, where we spend the vast majority of precious, irretrievable time with complete strangers instead of our own loved ones. Yes, we are all singing, all dancing ghosts of an industrial existence that saps every meaningful characteristic of life from our weary hearts and jaded minds, and we are either too busy, or too drunk to ever really give a shit. And that my friend, is exactly how they like it. Eternal Pleasures - Through an examination of life & love, drugs, religion & expressionism (Eternal Pleasures) is not merely a critique on modern social standards, but more importantly, it aims to facilitate change through the stimulation of feeling, the feeling that everything we accept as right, is most definitely wrong, but moreover – What can we do collectively, as a civilization – to change?
