Windows Me (Millennium Edition) is the latest version of Microsoft's operating system for the home market. It is essentially an upgraded edition of Windows 98, with new multimedia facilities, improved hardware management, simpler networking, and amended Internet software. PC manufacturers are selling Windows Me PCs beginning in September 2000, initially alongside Windows 98 PCs, but gradually replacing them.
