Ethnicity on Parade: Inventing the Norwegian American Through Celebration

This interdisciplinary study examines how ethnic identity has been shaped and expressed in American culture. It draws upon the work of historians, anthropologists, literary critics and cultural theorists. It focuses upon the 1925 Norwegian-American Immigration Centennial celebrations.
