This is a fictional story, based on historical events, legends, and fantasy, about a five-year-old boy born to Jewish parents in Mainz, Germany in the 11th century. He is kidnapped by a Catholic servant and raised in the Catholic faith. After struggling against his captors he finally submits to their teaching and reaches the greatest heights in the Catholic hierarchy."
