Brain Benders: Think Sheets, Grades 3-5

Each Think Sheet contains five kinds of mind-stretching problems: a word-study problem designed to arouse an interest in words; a research problem, which encourages students to work out the best way of locating information; a philosophical problem, which requires higher-order thinking skills; a make- and-create problem, which requires students to be inventive, creative and experimental; and a creative-thinking problem, which aims to develop the cognitive skills of fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration. Students can work individually or in pairs.
