First Grade Pals: Peer-Assisted Literacy Strategies, Teacher's Manual

Pals was developed in response to the need for feasible yet powerful early reading strategies. Designed to enhance rather than replace an existing reading program, First Grade PALS is conducted with the entire class during three weekly 35-minute sessions for at least 16 weeks. During these sessions, time is allocated so that all students are simultaneously engaged in reading activities. This results in students receiving double or triple the typical amount of reading practice.
