The Evolving Virtual Library

An advanced trend in library automation is the development of virtual collections, aggregations of materials accessible electronically, but not necessarily located on-site. This text results from a session of the "Computers in Libraries 1993 Conference" and explores various libraries' experiences. It includes contributors from a range of libraries internationally who discuss their experiences in developing and enhancing electronic collections within the context of traditional library materials.
