Mail and Mystery, Family and Friends: Drama Curriculum for Second and Third Grades (Young Actors Series)

Two new drama curriculum books by Pamela Gerke and Helen Landalf offer an innovative approach to teaching drama in the classroom. Classroom teachers, drama specialists and teacher educators will gain a sophisticated, in-depth understanding of the process and philosophy of teaching drama with these step-by-step lessons. Each book has an overall "context" that creatively connects the lessons while teaching basic drama skills, role drama, dramatic response to literature, and play production.

The book is based on the context of students "in role" as stamp designers who, while designing a postage stamp series, become involved in the cast of "The Mystery Letter." This book also includes a full script by Pamela Gerke of a Native American tale from the Lushootseed Salish of Western Washington, suitable for performance by students.
