Mr. H. Chaim Schimmel, a lawyer versed in both Talmudic and secular law, presents in this work some original insights for the serious Torah scholar as well as the interested layman. He aims to establish a base from which the reader can obtain a view of the entire spectrum of Rabbinic Law. To that end, he presents in the final two chapters of this book a stimulating and original viewpoint on two controversial and scholarly topics-Legal Fictions in Jewish Law and the development of the Mishnah.
