Secrets of Hawking Manor

Secrets of Hawking Manor is the story of the fictional CARSTAIRS family masters of the fictional Hawking Manor, a beautiful estate boasting much land, many gentry and servants and situated in rural England. The Carstairs harbor secrets which time brings to light, but new ones are born as we follow the actions of those who inhabit the estate. Set in the years between 1820 and 1860 the story takes us from Hawking Manor in central England to the Americas, to the gold rush at the American River, to the lodges of Native tribes inhabiting the wide, still largely unexplored expanses of this vast continent and to numerous personal conflicts the Carstairs face on both sides of the ocean. The novel is packet with intrigue and adventure. It features some of the customs of the early 19th century and highlights the struggle to manhood of the two Carstairs brothers in a rapidly changing world that in the end demands their loyalty to each other if they are to overcome the evils that beset them.
