SAS/OR 9.2 User's Guide: Local Search Optimization

Describes the syntax and use of the GA procedure for optimization using genetic algorithms, which employ modeling methods and search techniques that mimic the evolution of biological/physical populations. Many optimization problems that are difficult or impossible to model and solve by using traditional optimization methods can be addressed very effectively by using the genetic algorithms methods available in PROC GA.
