In Understanding Physical and Chemical Changes, a science unit, students work to understand the concepts and definitions of physical and chemical change. The unit pays particular attention to highlighting the indicators of these changes, which students employ to develop data collection tables to use in the experimental phase. In a culminating authentic project, lab teams are challenged to design their own experiments that illustrate a physical or chemical change.
