SPEC Kit 288: Scanning Services for Library Users

This survey gathered information on the extent of scanning services offered to users in ARL member libraries. The data cover issues such as facilities and equipment, technical support and training, budget and policies, security for scanning hardware/software, and promotion and evaluation of the services. Data and documentation gathered from this survey give a broad assessment of scanning services currently offered in academic and research libraries and also provide a basic framework for those thinking of offering such services in the future.
