Set Sail for the Stars

In the year 2060 the disastrous effects of global warming have progressed to the point that Earth may become uninhabitable for humans. Scientist/adventurer Luke McCorkle has devised a space travel concept that will allow Man to escape a dying Earth. Luke and his colleagues, including his beloved, the beautiful and brilliant Dr. Kathy Singleton, set forth on a crusade to bring this concept to reality and to colonize planets orbiting distant stars. Their plan and efforts are met with resistance from prominent and often dangerous elements of society. The confrontations and battles along the way lead to a climactic conclusion. Meanwhile on the planet Ektar, also located within our Milky Way Galaxy, an advanced race of intelligent of beings is faced with extinction due to unexplainable infertility. Jalob Markon, the scientist son of a prominent political leader, has devised a method and a plan to preserve a selected group to await a possible future visit from more advanced alien beings who may be able to solve the infertility conundrum. Similar to Luke on Earth, Jalob and his plan are met with resistance from opportunistic elements of his society. The story of the parallel paths of Luke and Jalob in their quests to rescue their two races makes for a fascinating narrative of scientific possibility along with a rousing tale of adventure.
