Egenolf was born and raised just south of Indianapolis, Indiana and is the youngest of seven children. He has traveled the United States through his work and for pleasure. He is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a current member of the Ruffed Grouse Society. He still calls Indiana his home where he resides with his wife and two children
